I love this show but find Mary Killen unbearable. She is intolerant, rude, entitled and snobbish. How does poor inoffensive, eccentric Giles put up with her. I keep hoping the worm will turn! How can someone like this possibly give helpful advice to others as an agony aunt? “I cannot stand dangling. It is so loutish” - what is that all about? Unbelievable.

It’s a great show but Greg Wallace should go. He is loud brash and a greengrocer not a chef or food critic. He shouts and he bullies. He takes over the show. He is uncouth and cannot even hold a fork properly. He holds it like a shovel. It was great when he was off sick for two episodes.

I am really disappointed in this revamp of Great Expectations. The casting is weird and unbelievable for a story from this era. The characters are overdrawn and it’s departure from the original is an attempt at modern appeal which fails miserably. I watched the first two episodes and recorded the last two but cannot sum up any enthusiasm to watch them. I may just delete them.
