But this show instantly caught me, and brought nostalgia with the re-iteration of characters by so juxtaposedly presenting them from our former knowledge of them from Lord of the Rings.
It sort of speaks to life, and the variety of how everyone experiences it.
The introduction of each culture was genius - oppressive elves, hidden by politics and presumption? Another set of quirky, small lifelings? Humans that prove to be as stubborn as they are glorious? Everything I could have hoped for.
I love that in the first episode, there were three moments of psychological awe that made you think differently about the world.
If you're not able to watch a series like this with an imagination that suspends your expectation, go watch die hard. ๐
