I don't even know where to start with this. I've played Halo since Halo 2 came out and absolutely loved the story, lore and characters that it has to offer. I was hoping that when this show came out it'd be as narratively captivating as the games or books were.
I was wrong. So very very wrong. This show seems like it was written by people who've never even heard of Halo and were given a 10 second synopsis of the entire franchise then told to write a show on it. Not to mention how horrible the response to criticism has been from the actors and producers.
When Pablo Schreiber was asked why Chief always has his helmet off, he claimed it was because you can't have a relatable/likeable character if you don't show their face. This is obviously wrong if you have even surface level knowledge on acting or film making, just look at shows like the Mandalorian for Christ's sake.
This show has so many plot holes and inconsistencies, has horrible dialogue and character writing (save for a few moments here and there), and just overall doesn't feel like a Halo IP. I have no idea how they went from making decent productions like Forward Unto Dawn and Halo Nightfall to this dumpster fire of a show. The action is the best part of this show, and even then it's littered with CGI that looks like it's from 2001.
Season 2 is definitely better than Season 1, but a golden turd is still a turd.
