In a word: โDepressingโ. This film was a swing in the opposite direction of The Right Stuff. The focus seemed to be negative of some of the greatest historical events and people involved. The relationship between Neil and his wife Janet was distant at best. Her character appeared either dispassionate toward him or angry at their overall situation, but not lovingly supportive. At times the cinematography was confusing. The camera work was unappealing in many shots: overly zoomed in, shaky, non referrence-pointed, and so on. The editing created a non-cohesive story line, choppy scenes, and included scenes that were under developed, yet including others that unnecessarily lengthened this film to over 2 hours and 20 minutes. I kept watching out of sheer curiosity. The acting was fairly good. How I felt after watching this can only be described as โMelancholicโ. Would I watch again? No.
