There is so much nonsensical exposition and bowing to a conspiracy theorist and it just doesn’t work. The human “heroes” need futuristic pressurized spacecraft to go deep into the earth where gravity reverses itself so that human beings don’t get crushed, but the flesh and blood Kong can fall several miles into the earth’s core, unaffected by the aforementioned pressure and height and bounce around, landing unharmed. It’s all so they can find some energy source to do ... something... and Kong’s home is apparently in the earth’s center. Isn’t the earth’s core molten, by the way?
Anyway, lots of talent wasted as scientists work unaware for the plot of the evil business tycoon who wants to...power a mechanized Godzilla to fight it? Even though the company is the reason Godzilla is attacking? Then you have the Scooby-Doo crew figuring out the plot and mouthing what’s supposed to be comic relief.
Didn’t we come to see monsters fight? And must there always be another foe to unify the two main characters who are supposed to fight each other, only to join forces to fight the unnecessary foe?
This is just awful. If you can stomach the nonsensical plot machinations and just turn off your brain to watch sci-Fi machines and CGI monster fights, I suppose you’ll be OK.
