So, im in season 3 and its a good show, maybe even really good...but its not great. the 5 star reviews of this show that have it being an all time drama series are defintely going overboard. The setting is beautiful and the premise is unique, but In my opinion it doesn't really measure up to other adult dramas in substance. The plot is repetitive and there are parts that are very unrealistic. I actually like the prequels more. I think people that are into the frontier mythology and cowboy culture are more likely to get enthralled by this series...

I'm surprised I didn't like this more. Started off well, but the whole thing was just really unrealistic and sensationalized to me. Stopped watching after the first few episodes...

This is such a rare portrayal of a precolonial Hawaii. The visuals are stunning...

Very good, not great, but a unique setting and good acting. Def some archetypal characters, but also some nice twists. I recommend...nice additional to the genre.

So, I would give this 3.5/5 . I enjoyed it overall. The sites were very interesting, and its shot beautifully. Hancock is a good narrator and I learned some cool stuff. The problem is how reliant the entire thing is on Hancock's narration. His theory is largely speculative, lacking any real evidence besides convergent oral traditions which seem to be cherry picked to support his argument. Usually, documentaries like these have more input from experts. He interviews people - some credible, some not - about sites, but they get very little airtime. Lastly, love Keanu Reaves... but why the HELL is he in this thing? Bizarre.

My daughter loves this show..she's 4. Great lessons every episode and wonderful music. So much better quality than something like paw patrol. I also appreciate the cultural angle, I think it's important.

I'm one episode in and don't think I'll continue. I usually don't write reviews this early, but the look of the actors is so ridiculous I don't think i can take it seriously. Pirates with cleaner teeth and more trimmed beards than you'd see at a nightclub. The sex scenes seem forced and everyone, especially the women, are too prototypically good-looking. What were they thinking?
