Excellent period piece that’s part crime scene investigation, part thriller, that’s never dull and is at once well written, well acted, and exquisitely crafted. TNT’s lofty budget allowed for brilliant set pieces, costume design, and an alluring digital recreation of Manhattan’s late 1800s Tenderloin district.
