In the memoir, the author covers his outer and inner life experiences.
His sharing covers many exciting journeys that were full of surprises & challenges.
As an anthropologist he was ahead of his time by advocating cooperative programs, involving the support and expertise of indigenous local healer in public health programs to save African lives. Thus he also recognized the effectiveness of herbal regiment ( as practiced by indigenous healers) to combat e.g. diarrheal disease.
I admire his courage to advocate an approach, unpopular among Western nations. Thus he questions & disproves established paradigms, such as the dominant stance that affecting changes in sexual behavior of African male (towards HIV /AIDS risk avoidance) is impossible.
His light- hearted sense of humor is very refreshing and his honest admittance of fear of failure is very moving!
