I finished the audiobook earlier today and I'm still debating whether I simply disliked it or actually hate it. It's very anticlimactic. The search in the Isles made no sense, the fact that they let a cadet made the decisions for an entire kingdom makes no sense. Andarna is annoying as hell. Her leaving and coming back 5 minutes later for what? The ending had me so confused I had to go home and read the physical book to try and understand wtf was happening. The POV's at the end? Useless. Gave 3 different characters 3 pages of nonsense. The ending? Worst cliffhanger. We learned nothing about venin, barely anything about the 7th kind of dragons, Xaden's Mom was a terrible character appearance, the people that died had the crapiest deaths. And now we have to wait for 2 more books?? This reminds me of the disappointment of the Crescent City saga by SJM.
