Overtly, painfully and tragically political. I don’t know what bothered me more, the endless slow burn unfolding of Brandon’s rather two dimensional postmodern philosophy or his bizarrely focused obsession with killing father figures. This “very special episode” of the Stormlight Archive was too long, too distracted by an unnecessarily vast assortment of b-list characters, and uncomfortably preachy in its tone. I applaud what Brandon has done in completing a work this huge. I wish he was still the same man he was when he started writing it.
