This movie was fantastic. While I did have some issues, they were so small and insignificant it didn't matter. When you enter this movie a lot of people expect THE story the games tell. Much like how the books are different, the movie is as well. And frankly I wouldn't want it to be the same, sure it would be cool to SEE the games play out, but it kills the mystery that built the community. I'll dive deeper but SPOILERS AHEAD:
The movie follows very closely to the games, in such a way that long term fans of the series know where it's going, but they don't know they know. It does a great job of telling the basic story of FNAF for long term fans and new comers.
A lot of people are quick to point out the "stupidity" of the Animatronics building a fort with Abby. This at least to me adds personality to the animatronics, it shows they are KIDS and not evil murder robots hell bent on killing...they are kids. Kids build forts. Kids have fun.
It's established later on that Afton controls them in some way, I've only watched the movie one time so I probably missed HOW he does it, but it points out that the murders aren't THEM.
As someone who has been a fan for 8 years, I am satisfied with what we got. Those that have issues with it not directly mirroring the games (and it did in a lot of really cool ways) missed the point.
