"Ever judged a movie without even watching its trailer? I did, and I was so wrong."
So, I heard about this movie from Sujeet Sircar's podcast on Unfiltered Samdish. And trust me, curiosity took over after hearing how Sujeet Sircar described working with Varun Dhawan on this film. Now, let me tell you, I’m not at all a fan of Varun—can't relate to his acting style—but I’ve loved almost every movie Sujeet Sircar has made. Initially, I thought, "Arey yaar, if he’s working with Varun, it must be some typical commercial Bollywood thing," so I didn’t even bother watching the trailer.
But after listening to the podcast, I thought, “Chalo, let’s give it a chance.” And oh boy, what a gem! The story, the way they shot the movie—everything just hits differently.
I don’t want to sound all intellectual, lecturing about cinematography and technicalities, but I have to talk about the core of the movie—what it says about being human. The film shows such a simple man, someone who falls in love with no conditions, no calculations. Once a man loves like that, it’s done. That kind of love isn’t something you can replace or replicate, no matter what.
It also touches on emotions we seem to have lost these days—support, hope, empathy, and the beauty of living a slow, selfless life. We’re so trapped in this capitalist mindset that we’ve forgotten what it means to actually live.
A brilliant film, Sujeet Sircar ji. 🙏 Truly a masterpiece.
Thanks.
