It is very disappointing to see Manu Feildel, as a chef with years of experience and the host of a long-running cooking show, blur the line between home cooking and restaurant cooking. It should be clear that someone working in a professional kitchen has a significant advantage over someone who only cooks at home. Likewise, those who cook for wealthy clients bring a different level of experience altogether.
Given his expertise, Manu Feildel should recognise these differences and ensure that when contestants join My Kitchen Rules, their contracts are clear, fair, and transparent about expectations. Unfortunately, the programme seems to have lost some of its quality, and Manu Feildel’s behaviour at times comes across as dismissive and arrogant almost as if he thinks the viewers are naïve.
This was especially obvious when he went against Meat Master, who clearly identified the difference between home and professional cooking and was 100% correct. By ignoring such a valid point, Manu gave the impression that the audience would not notice — which undermines the credibility of the programme.
Overall, the show feels like it has lost some of its quality, and Manu Feildel’s approach has only added to that decline.
