*Spoiler*
It’s pretty bad and not in a good way. This clearly is a movie that was written and made for children. It should have been a PG-13 rating at the max. The only “rated-R” parts are the Aunt hung by a noose and “Big Ben” asking for Roger to kill him. Other than that, it was extremely tame. There’s only two times where blood appears. That’s it. Not even when he’s attacked or attacks the ghosts. Forget about any story. For being a dad, he sure sucks at taking care of kids. Man acts like he’s never had kids before when he’s forced to babysit. Children’s “horror” movies, in the ‘80s, are far raunchier and disturbing than this “rated-r” POS. Roger doesn’t even put all his focus on finding his kid, he just so happens to stumble upon the clue to find him. There was zero plot about saving the kid until the very end. He at one points even “mutes” his kid. It had the dumbest ending. He did the whole, “I’m not afraid of you” and that defeated the big bad ghost. It felt dragged out and rushed at the same time. Do not watch this movie. You will regret it. There is only one time my fiancé and I laughed and it was at the skeleton puppet taking the shot gun and shooting the rope. The guy claiming that Evil Dead is at the same level as this POS is insane. It’s not good not because it’s low budget, it’s not good because the plot is stupid and it’s a child’s film that was given the R rating. If you’re going to have suicide and references to suicide in it, go full rated R wild. Not this baby crap.
Good things about this movie:
Harold is a bro. Absolutely love him. Only person in the movie who actually felt realistic. I wanted more Harold and less Roger. Fuck Roger.
