Possibly the worst movie ever made.

If you don’t own the cookies (rights to the Silmarillion) don’t reach your hand in the cookie jar (write a show based in the second middle age). Unimaginative, underwhelming, and out of touch with Tolkiens writing. This is a new writers ego stroke under the guise of Tolkien. The amount of liberties taken is downright gluttonous. It is without the knowledge, understanding, and consideration to any one of the decades worth of readers that treat these pages (even the appendices) with love and respect. It took til the first minutes of the second season to accept there is no mission to correct the mistakes of the first season. Finishing the first episode was as painful as it was a reminder that greed will always kill. I forced myself to finish the first 3 as a reminder to never watch it again because it will never be what we want it be through the hands of Amazon and Hollywood writers that are using the appendices to adapt stories from the second middle age. Neither Aman Amarth or Sauron ever interacted within Khazad Dum directly. Adding it to the story was unnecessary, and honestly, stupid. Not much more ignorant then what they make the Elves to seem to be, but close. This show continuously makes the elves look vapid, a mistake Peter Jackson’s adaptations never made. The first 3 episodes of the second season utilize only 1, one, ONE piece of literary cannon in Annatar’s arrival in Eregion. The dwarves storyline is bereft of any accuracy through the first season and these episodes. But the biggest punt on them all would be the the 9 orcs that kill the Maia…….the liquid Maia. Zombie Sauron has come. I’ve spoken to young adults with almost no knowledge of Tolkien’s writings outside google who had more creative thoughts to how this could be turned around. Halbrands story could have been more palatable had he visited Eregion after Annatar before the sack of Eregion closer to when the Elven Rings were made. Even if he had NOTHING to do with them. They can’t legally write this show the way it should be written and therefore I vote they take Tolkien’s name and titles away from this hot ******* garbage. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
