Movie: Madharaasi (2025)
Today this is my second movie after Bad Girl. After lunch, I went for Madharaasi. After a long break, A.R. Murugadoss sir’s movie released, so I really went in with excitement.
About the movie:
The story begins with Ragu trying to commit suicide after a breakup. While he is being saved by the public, the NIA head discovers that guns are being supplied to Tamil Nadu by two gangsters. To destroy their gun factory, the NIA head sends Ragu on a suicide mission. What happens next forms the core of the story.
Positives:
The first positive is Vidyut Jammwal as Virat. His presence was really strong, and his gun-handling skills looked stunning on screen.
The casting was good. Especially Ragu gave his best, and the actress who played Malathi also did a decent job.
The stunt sequences were well-executed. You can clearly see the effort, especially in the fight between Ragu and Virat.
The screenplay picked up well and stayed engaging from the beginning. The flashback portions about Ragu’s family death also worked nicely.
A standout scene for me was during the earthquake situation, where Ragu speaks without any call, and Malathi comes and asks him, “Are you alright?” That felt very relatable.
Ragu Shadow fight was good to watch
Negatives:
Ragu’s character had many loopholes. Since he is shown as “mad,” we can accept a few things, but how would the NIA allow someone with a mental illness to handle such missions?
The love portions between Ragu and Malathi felt dragging and irritating in many places.
After the second half, the movie started feeling artificial and predictable. Especially the firing scenes—nobody shoots properly, which was hard to accept.
The biggest drawback was Malathi’s character. She doesn’t help anyone directly but expects others to help her. Even her reason for leaving Ragu wasn’t convincing.
Overall:
It’s an okay watch. If you don’t mind the lack of logic, you can give it a try
