I very much enjoyed this. Was it a masterpiece? No, Did it have an insane plot? No. It is very much just a nice, mellow movie with some comedic scenes and has romantic elements. The acting was very good, the characters were sympathetic and well written and I enjoyed the movie quite a lot.
Is it weird for me to say this movie almost had a slight Studio Ghibli feel to it? Perhaps so, but it is the same sort of feeling you get after watching Howl's Moving Castle, or Princess Mononoke. The movie is nowhere near as deep or intricate as those two, but it didn't have to be. Just a nice movie that made you root for the characters and their goals and makes you happy to see their conclusion at the end.
It's nice to see modern movies can still have that effect. There are many movies made these days even on massive budgets that just feel so souless and corporate and out of touch with reality. It is nice simple movies like this can still be made and have the ride be nice and enjoyable.
