I truly enjoy each installment in the Beyond the Page Bookstore series. Under the Cover of Murder is no exception. Addie and friends are serving as Serena’s bridesmaids in her out of control yacht wedding. When a body is discovered before the wedding, Addie must split her time between assisting Serena in dealing with a dragon of a future mother-in-law and assisting Marc in identifying the body with her knowledge of books. Then an old foe rears her head at the wedding itself. The tangled web of deception in the families involved in the wedding becomes more and more tangled until a startling conclusion.
There are a couple of REALLY powerful scenes between Addie and Simon as well as Addie and Marc that were truly moving. The emotional development between characters in this book makes for a truly fulfilling reading experience. If you have enjoyed the series so far this is a good next step. If you are new to the series, however, I would recommend that you read others in the series first as there is major character histories in play here.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy provided to me by the author. The thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
