I don't understand the negative reviews of this book. I found this novel utterly engrossing, horrifying and thought provoking - like wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it good. The writing was definitely unique. In the beginning I found it perhaps a bit wordy and descriptive and the stream of consciousness style took a bit of getting used to. But once you gave yourself over to the writing, it just carried you along and away. This book examined what societal structure means. What do we look like, act like, think like if it all falls away? Well done to the author!
