The complex prose took me to another world, it had my focus and attention at every turn of phrase. The building of the characters and their lives was not looked at so one simply understood them, but so that you felt as if you actually befriended or despised them, or both. It brought me into the world of Thomas Cromwell, and dragged me tirelessly from one experience to another with consummate ease. I highly recommend it.
