Music is an ableist and offensive movie. Full stop.
It doesn't matter how good the story, the cinematography, or the soundtrack is. Casting a non-autistic actor for an autistic role, doing very little research on autism itself, and making the movie unwatchable for many autistic viewers not only cheapens whatever message this movie was trying to get across, but is just downright lazy and offensive. I do not speak for the autistic community, but their and many others' reactions make it plain that this movie caters to neurotypicals who want to feel like they're supporting a marginalized community. Music does not do that. Support autistic and other neurodivergent artists instead of giving money to an ableist, shallow, Hollywood production that is more performative than meaningful.
