I really wanted to like this movie. The premise is great. The execution is… cartoonish. The director forgoes suspense in lieu of ham-fisted violence. This much is obvious from the attackers’ opening salvo. For what it’s worth, that’s when I turned the movie off. Perhaps it got better, but I couldn’t risk watching anymore. I only have so many beats left on my heart.

My hatred of //Don’t Look Up// finally coalesced into a neat nugget of negativity: It was the dinner prayer scene. The movie spent 2 hours mocking stupid beliefs only to ultimately celebrate a stupid belief. That said, if after the prayer the smart scientist turned to the idiot stoner and said “Never touch me again” as they were both vaporized, I would have given the movie 5 stars out of 5.

This cringingly bad. I only watched because of Natalie Martinez.
