I’ve read my share of dark novels, but this one was truly magnificent. The writing, the plot, and each character were all captivating. The way the son became just like his father, and the way Sally reverted to square one after all her improvements, made the book feel deeply connected to the strange realities of the real world. It almost felt as if it were the narration of a real incident.
