Forget Michael Scott - you need to look at Steve Carrell's character as an entirely different personality. Otherwise, you will likely be disappointed. The subtle humor, side dialogue, and unscripted moments are what makes this great. John Malkovich is truly a comic threat to be reckoned with! Give it a chance, and I think you will be impressed.
