Although this series was gripping, in the end, it proved morally bankrupt. Rusty is a deplorable character, surrounded by decent people. Why do the other characters support him and say he is a nice guy, when he is such a horrible, manipulative, selfish, demanding and violent person? It feels like the story teller wants the audience to continually ignore and excuse Rusty's endless wrongdoings. And we are encouraged to be critical of other character's fragility, kindness and humanity. The last half hour of the series does not work, given how other characters behaved in the series. A real let down.
