Disappointing and awkward
The concept has so much potential and by the cinematography I was hoping for the best but it was nothing short of the worst.
The costume design for Nosferatu was uninspired - he just looked like a decrepit Dr Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog. It was also disappointing that you didn't get to see his face much when there was the opportunity to show it. A bit of a waste in my opinion especially considering the actor who played Count Orlok is so talented in achieving a horrifying and disturbing look/character (as he did in Stephen King's It).
The storyline was easy to guess what the next move was which took the excitement out of it. And there were lots of holes in the story that didn't appreciate, like how the Count just left as soon as he signed the papers and how did Thomas get over the castle walls so easily and how was his SIX WEEK trip only 2 days?
Awkward awkward awkward - the scenes for Lily-Rose were so over the top and unnecessary, I felt bad for her. Like the sex scenes and the "possessions". The audience in the theatre laughed awkwardly at the end, as did I.
The best part of the movie was Wilem Dafoe of course but even he could not have saved this movie.
Too bad, I was really looking forward to a modern take on Dracula and this was not it.
