The writing was beautiful and descriptive, but the moral tone left much to be desired. The terrible abuse of the wife and children were never properly addressed, and the sexual tension between the priest and minor girl was terrible! She thought it was love but it was bordering on pedophilia. I am so sorry I bought this book. And to think this was required reading in schools? Unacceptable.
