Honestly, this film really hit me. Even though I don’t have seven siblings, I felt so many mixed emotions while watching it. Moko, the main character, in my opinion, is a strong older brother figure. He doesn’t complain much even though his life is full of pressure. From taking care of his younger siblings to being the main support of the family, he does it all with enthusiasm. But what I’m most happy about is that he meets Maurin in his life, a girl who becomes the light in his dark days. Maurin doesn’t just show up, but truly supports Moko wholeheartedly. She understands Moko’s situation and still chooses to stay by his side even though they’ve broken up. Woko also reminds me a lot of myself. He has to choose to work to support his younger sibling's college. Even though he has the same dreams, he chooses to sacrifice them. Nina is independent, emotional, and ambitious. Sometimes she’s explosive, but no matter what, she still cares deeply for her family. Her attitude is honest, and sometimes harsh, but that’s because she loves them. Ono, even though he’s still young, shows a level of care that’s just as big as his older siblings. In some moments, he actually becomes a reminder that love can come from anyone, even the youngest. And lastly, Ais. The character that made me the most emotional. At first, I was happy seeing her get a new family, but also sad because she was left by her parents. When I found out her real story, honestly I cried. I just couldn’t take it, especially the moment when she was kicked out, I cried during that too. But in the end, I felt so relieved when she came back to the others. And somehow, Ais feels like the type of girl I’ve been looking for all this time.
Thank you, Ais. I hope someday, I can meet a woman like you.
