this is potentially the most dragged out show that’s ever been made. i’m making my grievances into a LIST and believe me this paragraph will have more competency and brain power put into it than this whole show combined! 1. THE PLOT. every episode introduces a new sub plot while never furthering the main plot!! jump ship before it has its claws in you! i’ll give them this, the cliff hangers are compelling and makes me come back for more but im left disappointed every time. 2. THE ACTING. there is one good actor, and that is stretching it. boyd is believable (for the most part) and does seem like a real person but every other actor seems like this was there first experience being in front of the camera. if they’re not screaming, crying, or unveiling some new secret that leads to a new subplot, they’re probably complaining about some nonsense! 3. THE CHARACTERS. none, i mean zero, of the characters were pleasant to watch. they all start out likable, and then slowly devolve into boring unpleasant jerks! the little kid was awful, he brings up this godforsaken “cromenockle” all of season 1 and solved half of the issues based off of his stupid cromenockle. the father is a hothead, the mother is always trying to get herself killed which leads to them always fighting. the outcome of this is an angst teenage daughter. across the whole show, everybody thwarts each other because they try to be mysterious and none of the characters share any important revelations which leads to confusion and guess what MORE SUBPLOTS! the only characters who you will end up liking are the random background ones and even those are iffy! 4. THE FILMMAKING. shocking very good! the set is very nice to looks at and the editing gives a very creepy vibe. this is probably the only way i stayed because i assumed since the filming and editing were so good that must mean that the show will get better. WRONG! TLDR; don’t waste your time. the plot is dragged through three seasons and no questions are ever answered. the acting is bad, the characters are worse, and this show is a bad plot that feels like it was written by AI all wrapped up in a beautiful box of a big budget. EDIT: i just watched the season three finale (changed my rating from two stars to only one) and let me tell you to AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE. i want to call the writers and tell them to FIND A NEW JOB!!!!! nothing makes sense and it ends on a ridiculous cliff hanger. miraculously idiots like me are in a high enough stock to keep watching but let me tell you, if they try to drag this out across another two seasons im driving to wherever they write this things and making sure they WRAP IT UP. i have the hook through my cheek and im too deep to leave so im sticking with this to the end but for gods sake, DO NOT!!
