"Fred: The Show" has a poor reputation exclusively with people who have never watched it and thus dont understand it, as it secretly has all the qualities of a cult classic.
memes aside, this show is great. i'm so glad quinton reviews introduced me to it. it's funny, it's sweet, and it really fleshes out fred as a character, even as a person. it may not be as dark as the youtube series (obviously, since it's a nick show), but there are surprisingly mature moments here, and it does touch on some darker subjects.
additionally, the handling of fred and kevin's relationship, fred's home life, and fred's undeniable neurodivergence are surprisingly well done for a nick show from 2012.
not sure if this will make sense, but fred as a character validates a lot of my experiences as a neurodivergent child. that's why i find this show especially touching.
