music was very good, fights were interesting (a few tricky mechanics but not a problem to me), new zones were beautiful.
some people just can't stand not being the super godlike unstoppable hero protagonist even though we were given 90 levels of that already. you guys already saved the universe, we're on vacation mentoring another person now, and stopping yet another calamity, just relax a bit lol. we don't need our ego stroked every single quest, even though all the npcs are glazing our WoL at any given chance anyways. i say this as someone who HATES fetch quests.
for the entire first half of the expansion i didn't like wuk lamat at all but she became more tolerable later on. i stopped focusing so much on each individual character and nitpicking things i don't like about them and realized the overarching theme of the storywriting.
the expansion was about appreciating others despite differences, preserving peace and, mostly, the acceptance of loss and failure. it was meant to invoke reflection on our own lives, and humanity. it is human nature to want to reduce our own suffering by any means. this is emphasized by the entire last two cities and the storyline within them. but, those are the things that make us human: suffering, mortality, compassion, the ability to form and define connections between us and others. it is ok to not be able to achieve everything you're expected to do. the world isn't over just because you couldn't live up to all of your expectations. just live for yourself instead of what others think you should do or be. there is no shame in humility.
