Clearly, this was not meant to be the definitive story of Bass Reeves, and I’m so glad it won’t be the last.
Much is unknown about the “Black Sheriff of Oklahoma.” I think shows like this that spark the imagination do a great service to inspiring people to learn the history of this country. I’m waiting on a documentary that does real service to this man; to the many people who were enslaved(and the generations who followed) who made OK their home, and established the most black owned townships than in any other place in this country.
It may not be perfect, but the show is entertaining and will spark interest. Thumbs up in this time of quieting voices - especially in OK.
