A great cast and some fantastic acting BUT … … forced humour is excruciating for 8 episodes. This could have been completed in half the time, possibly less and the humour wouldn’t have been so wearing. The drawing out of the whodunnit didn’t add to the storyline. Such a shame.

For a movie to capture the essence of its animated predecessor whilst simultaneously taking you on an epic rollercoaster ride, truly makes this live action attempt wondrous. And I don’t normally say that, as most live action movies fail to live up to the hype. Modern movies struggle to recreate the adventures as well as misadventures of a band of youthful misfits. But How To Train Your Dragon echos the sentiment of The Goonies and ET, partly because of the choice of locations, but mostly because of the theatrical and comical acting. The costumes are excellent and the special effects are really well executed. The beginning was a little annoying because of how dark everything was. But that doesn’t spoil the movie in any way.

My original review was deleted by the powers to be at Google who deemed what I said to be in contravention of their guidelines. The reality is this movie is deeply disturbing. It attempts to compel the viewer into believing that AI is an extension of humanity. Humanising the machine is exactly what tech companies like Google want. This isn’t a brave new world. It’s death. Sinful, spiritually harmful death!

The worst in the Marvel franchise by a country mile. I hope that's a stand alone movie. Once again trying to hard to appease to many people which is why Doctor Who never worked when Jodie Whittaker took over. Pseudo new age science combined with woke culture is literally destroying the fabric of story telling!
