This movie clearly did very little research on guardianships, hearings, or adult living facilities. It is wildly inaccurate and for most of the movie I felt like I was supposed to be some how ‘empowered’ by our protagonist, and instead I felt patronized.
This could have been a great opportunity to address real issues with our medical and court system in regards to the elderly, but what we got was disappointment and a blatant disregard for administrating sedatives.
