The Emoji Movie is a bad movie that was made to advertise mobile apps. That is why they spend so much time explaining rules of Candy Crush and Just Dance. The jokes are terrible and will be laughed by kids only. I can see that Sony created this terrible animated movie for kids as they can easily ignore its major flaws. The characters aren't interesting and you wouldn't even care for their victories and falls. Gene = Generic protagonist who tries to fit in but actually doesn't High 5 = Generic sidekick/ friend Jailbreak = Feminist Emoji Drug Dealer Poop = character made for a single joke. The plot twist isn't even that big and surprising.
