The Menu was overrated, recycled and predictable. The real climax comes in the middle of the movie with a "gotchya" moment , and the rest of the shock and horror is predictable. There's little to no character development-- all context is told through exposition. The moral of wealthy decadence and revenge is a tired trope by now-- told by a dozen shows and movies and even another contemporary Oscar nominee. It felt like an American's take on a Korean gore thriller , but without the payoff. Some good performance by John Leguizamo. Even Ralph Fiennes performance is middling , due to his character's lack of depth. It felt like SNL making a horror parody sketch that ran too long .
