Absolutely butchered everything Tolkien worked decades on. I’m not here to call it woke or any BS like that, sure there are A LOT of unnecessary 2024 allegorical lessons the writers put in but they aren’t necessarily a detriment to the story. Adding black and Asian elves/hobbits seems odd but as long as they are decently written storylines built into the pre-existing world it wouldn’t be an issue. But that’s the thing, none of this is well written. My god I wanted to vomit whenever Galadriel opened her mouth. Gandalf doesn’t show up in Middle Earth until the NEXT AGE AFTER SAURON IS DEFEATED. Billion dollar show my ass. There is no doubt in my mind that Amazon bought the rights simply to make modern audiences hate it. If I could sue Jeff Bezos over this is I would. The mental and emotional turmoil I suffered from this is insane
