I was about half way thru the book when the show started airing. The producers have done a fine job condensing the events and making them meaningful. I understand they dropped 2 episodes due to cost. I've just watched again for Memorial Day. For those not satisfied, I encourage you to watch again. I've picked up more story points and huge admiration for what has been accomplished in 9 episodes. The production values and the CGI are amazing the second time around. I'll never forget the shots of bodies and plane parts falling from the sky. And those who made it so close to 25 or 28 missions or even surviving internment only to die days from the end. Another achievement on a par with 'Band' and 'Pacific', and another video thank you to all those to sacrificed and and those made the ultimate sacrifice 80 years ago. Once again, I understand why survivors rarely talked about their experiences. Thank you.
