Hailey Ankenbauer

I have read many of her books previously which I have liked and I must say this book was disappointing. Low and Jeremy had wet blanket personalities. I didn’t know the intentions, personally traits, and what inspires the characters to do what they did. This caused me not to root for anyone’s happy ending. The only excitement was in the last 30 pages and everything seemed predictable. Going into reading this book I knew it would be eerie and I think the whole manuscript side of the story was jumbled and not cohesive with the present part. I did however like how Hoover strayed away from her usual writing.
