This show had me in a chokehold and not always in a good way. It was way too long for an eight-episode series. I mean, thereโs dragging out a mystery, and then thereโs just doing the absolute most. Some parts felt like they were filling time instead of pushing the plot forward.
That said, I stuck it out, and Iโll admit the ending was a little weird but it kinda made sense. Maya is a very smart lady. Once everything came together, I could see where they were going. The tension was real, but I couldnโt help thinking it didnโt need to take so long to get to the point.
In the end, Fool Me Once had some solid twists, but the pacing killed a lot of the excitement for me. It couldโve been a much tighter, more impactful series if they had cut it down to 4โ6 episodes max. If you have the patience, itโs worth finishing, but donโt be surprised if you find yourself rolling your eyes at how drawn-out it feels.
