RITWIK GHATAK and only Ritwik Ghatak in India knew how to use sound in films.....he knew that sound can never be pure, noise can only give rise to sound......
Notice the wedding songs when it seems the protagonists Brighu and Anasuya were uniting and reuniting.....
In the 60s Ritwik paid homage to Tagore....the name Komal Gandhar itself is taken from one of the latter's poem....moreover he made the film in Tagore's 100th birth anniversary in 1961.
Mark the statements said by Haraprasad (Bijon Bhattacharya)....."রাত কতো হল, উত্তর মেলেনা।।" or "মাতা দার খোলা।।"....in Subarnarekha(1962).....were all tributes paid by Ghatak to Tagore...but unfortunately both were terrible flops..
KOMAL GANDHAR ITSELF IS ONE OF THE FINEST AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF RITWIK GHATAK
