First, this is not a direct adaptation of a Tolkien story. I only hold a bachelors in Tolkien lord so I am not as rigid on the lore as those who hold a PhD. It is an excellent story with high production value. Excellent acting. I Really enjoyed it. I think all the hate directed at it is simply โitโs not Tolkien doctrine. So unless you are offended by Amazonโs very excellent attempt to flesh out a prequel you will enjoy this.
