A worthy third entree with some new ghoulish kill scenes, weird sexual sadism, necrophilia, and eccentric against type characters make this third chapter a much more bizarre zany sleaze meets Hitchcock hybrid that any 1980's slasher fan would enjoy. Perkins is playing Norman pure weird lovable oddball meets Ted Bundee hotel owner and with a sinister wink. Jeff Fahey joined as a sleazy sex crazed psychotic sadist who may or may not have it out for Norman? And a suicidal former Nun who has lost faith in God. It all culminates into a unpredictable bloody showdown where Norman must fight himself, his psychotic new hire, a potential love interest, and a nosey reporter bent on finding dirt on Norman. It doesn't completely balance out, but Psycho III offers enough twist, graphic kills, gratuitous nudity, and wacky characters to keep Psycho fans satisfied until Norman's next bloody outing.

Halloween Kills starts strong, but quickly dissolves into a message movie about false accusations and becoming our own worst enemy. Jamie Lee Curtis ,unfortunately, like the original Halloween 2 from 1981, is relegated to a hospital bed for most of the picture while Anthony Michael Hall overreacts in his scenes involving vigilante violence. Michael Myers gets some vicious kills and a few good stalking sequences, but the majority of the picture is taken up with a red herring about an escape mental patient who the people of Haddonfield think is Michael Myers. Not to say Halloween Kills is a total miss, but had the makers focused more on the stalking and killing with Jamie Lee fighting to destroy her arch nemesis the picture might have felt more satisfying. As it stands it a mixed bag of a follow up that is only mildly satisfying.

A fun sequel but slightly underwhelmed by a lackluster final fight and poor editing of some action scenes. Regardless Dudikoff keeps his silent stoic persona of the first film. While Steve James keeps viewers glued with his charisma and total dedication to the silly plot and lame brained dialogue. It's all goofy 1980's cheese and a fun trip back in time for all us 80's babies who stayed up past our bedtime watching these silly actioners as Mom and Dad slept.
