so, it's going to be a long and detailed review as there are many points to cover. first of all, the plot was too naive and predictable as if written by a child, not a writer. there was, absolutely no "crazy" twist throughout the series at all! the story was too plain and pretentious. number two: there were very explicit scenes in the series for no apparent reason. I would have tolerated it if it was just the scenes where showing sexual assault was necessary, as it was in some scenes, but these graphic scenes had no apparent reason to be there and it literally made me feel very uncomfortable! also, there was nudity for no apparent reason, to be honest! this series felt more like some porn series or some sexual fantasy of the director, writer, and producer rather than a murder mystery! As a woman, I think this just portrayed women as objects, sexualized objects to be precise. number 3: the degradation of women throughout the story seemed to have no importance in the eyes of the writer or the director at all as all women in the series were being harassed, manipulated, raped, abused, assaulted, and killed. and the most disturbing or problematic thing was that even they, themselves, were okay with it! what woman tolerates being raped and then breathing in the same air as the rapist just for some bloody money?! I know that people have their reasons. But it is not like they aren't getting a job at all besides this one!
the series has so many loopholes that it's just so pathetic. first of all , there is literally no background or past of kaimook! who was she? where did she come from? why did she wanted the job so bad? what were her reasons that she went to such extreme lengths that when she was asked to strip in front of the "ladies of the mansion", she did it! without even thinking for once that she had gone there for housekeeping!
what woman in her sane mind, let alone the one who is as intelligent as kaimook, would accept such a job where her body and her figure is studied carefully to see whether she is fit for the job of "housekeeping" or not?! how could she not even suspect? this is one of the many questions that makes the whole series absurd and meaningless. there is literally no apparent reason for all this. well, I think maybe the writer and the director just wanted to make a nude scene in order to sell their pathetic content to some shitty pathetic viewers!
Lastly, as the review has become too long, kaimook had no apparent reason to come to this mansion and go to such lengths to work there. at least the director and the writer have given the audience no satisfactory reason for this. overall, I think the series was "pathetic". I literally knew from the start that kaimook was the mastermind and was not as innocent as she seemed. especially, the scene when she goes into Shutter's room and steals the video recording. the speed at which her facial expressions change and become calm, debunked the complete plot for me. She seemed too calm and composed even under such pressure and humiliation. it was not natural at all! the acting was I can say fine. but it could have been improved.
I hope you find it helpful as I have done my best to give my honest review.
The only thing that I liked about the series was probably the cinematography. it was pretty good.
