I watched it from the point of view that it was supposed to be basically accurate according to the Torah or Old Testament. I am not a movie critic but this is for those who might be interested in a bit of accuracy.
If you believe the Quran or the Torah or the whole Bible it was rife with inaccuracies. In the movie it was clearly murder of the Egyptian. Islamic tradition calls it manslaughter and the Hebrew word translated as striking or smiting is a participle so the Egyptian was still in the process of striking when Moses killed him.
Then the so-called scholars call him a murderer; "Murderer to Liberator."
The so-called scholars say Moses didn't know he was a Hebrew but gradually came to relate to the downtrodden people. The same verse as above ie Shemot or Exodus 2:11 says he knew they were his Brethren or Brothers his Hebrew brothers. Acts 7:23,24 in the New Testament says while he was visiting his Israelite brothers he "defended" one of his Israelite brothers who was being beaten.
I didn't watch any more.
To post I had to put one star.
