It hurts me to say this but I think the pretty planets are going to be the best partโฆ. Probably not quite what they were going forโฆ
The show is remarkably slow moving. I feel like the actual content of some of the entire 45-50 min episodes could have been delivered in a 10 min short. The rest of it really drags on and on and on and on and on. I think you get my point there.
I feel like the acting isnโt very good either. There is very little emotion in it, but then again it really didnโt seem to me like the writing really helped out that much. Instead of the playful writing in rebels and the clone wars we just have these shells of characters going around overly serious about everything. It is weird.
But what about the plot? Does it make up for the overly dry, remarkably slow moving, semi-poorly acting/definitely poor writing? Nope. Not today my friends. True, there is definitely more of a plot than the plotless wonder of the Mandalorian, but still woefully insufficient at this point. Hopefully it will pull something out at the end. Maybe they are making everybody look so bad so that when Thrawn comes in he will look even smarterโฆ but I doubt it.
In fact I am now worrying that they are going to destroy him too. And he is one of my favorite characters.
I loved the clone wars, I thoroughly enjoyed rebels. I even liked Rogue 1. But this just goes in the embarrassment file to be tucked away and never reopened. Just like the Mandalorian. Just like Kenobi. just like Bobaโs book. Just like the notoriously fan base killing trilogy, what was it called againโฆ oh yea: The Force Frightened Luke Who Forced so Hard He Died, Leaving Partially Trained Padawons To Take On A Zombie Sith Lord That The Greatest Jedi Of All Time Apparently Could Not Beat.
Hopefully someday theyโll start figuring it out and stop destroying everything. But unfortunately, that day is not today.
