I was skeptical... and honestly did not really care if I saw it in theaters or not. Figured i would wait till it came to Disney+. But I ended up going to see it in theaters because some friends wanted to see it. I was blown away! The origin story of Mufasa (and subsequently, Scar) was beautiful done. Loved the plot! Loved the nods to the Lion King. Loved the intensity. Music was- ok, but nothing to write home about. Overall... I loved it. I want to go see it again!
