It's good! Not perfect but definitely did not have that 'dreaded sequel' curse. I think a bit too much was crammed into the story (trying to play catch-up while introducing new characters that weren't all that necessary). It definitely could have benefitted from some minor tweaks. The licensed music drop-ins were a bit gratuitous and didn't do much for the scenes they were shoehorned into. Shooting on location and having actual sets and puppetry will always look better than CGI so it's great that Tim Burton didn't abandon this entirely. Overall, the storylines you wanted more of, were crowded out by the storylines that didn't add much (they didn't detract, they just cluttered things up a bit.)
