I've read over the comments stating that this book isn't helpful for the younger demographic, and i think that it is simply untrue. I've found this book by chance at my local housing assistance building in my early 20s, during a time when I was in my darkest moments. I read through and have even taken notes in the book, and it's been such a validating read for me. While some of the stories are hard to read, and may be triggering to some, I think it is important to note that these horrible things happen to other people, and I wasn't alone in that. Sexual assault is UNCOMFORTABLE it's supposed to be! If you are someone easily triggered, I suggest using this book along with a therapist who is able to guide you through it, that way you reap more of the benefits of this book. Another note, people expect this book to be a worksheet guide, No it's not, but it IS a guide for people who feel lost or alone with how they feel, and how they behave. This book has been a guide for me, when I couldn't figure out why i acted certain ways to people, places, and affection. This book has given me the courage to heal. I got therapy, and am doing a lot better now. Thank you Ellen bass and laura Davis!
