This film had so much potential with the story, cast, and production. It feels like the ball was dropped. Almost as if the 3.5hr run time was an excuse to not cut the film in any meaningful way. Also, there was a general lack of indigenous representation and zero highlights into the indigenous culture surrounding the film. At points, it felt like the indigenous characters were intentionally portrayed as gullible and naive.
